A. Medication to Treat Piles

Treatments we offer

Medications such as pain killers, corticosteroids and laxatives, etc., are useful in treating low-grade piles. These include over-the-counter (OTC) creams, ointments, and suppositories (medication inserted into the rectum).

Painkillers help in reducing pain and discomfort. Corticosteroids help in reducing redness and swelling. Laxatives help to reduce pressure on the lower rectum and relieve constipation.

B. Surgical Options For Piles

Treatments we offer

If piles are not relieved by medications or if your piles are of a higher grade, your doctor may suggest surgical options that may include:

A. Minimal Invasive Procedures : In case of painful piles (haemorrhoids) and bleeding, invasive procedures such as rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy, and coagulation can be performed.

  1. Rubber Band Ligation (Banding): During this procedure, rubber bands are placed around the base of the piles (haemorrhoids) that help in cutting off the blood supply to the haemorrhoids. It withers and falls off within a week. This method is useful in treating piles that are less than grade 4.

  2. Sclerotherapy: Sclerotherapy involves injecting a chemical solution in the haemorrhoids. This helps the piles to shrivel up. It is recommended for treating Grade 1 and Grade 2 piles. This treatment serves as an alternative for banding.

  3. Infrared Coagulation: This procedure uses bursts of infrared light to the haemorrhoid that causes it to bleed, harden and shrivel up eventually. This method is generally used to treat grade 2 and grade 3 haemorrhoids.

B. Surgical Procedures : Surgical procedures are recommended in case of large haemorrhoids that cause pain, discomfort or bleeding.

  1. Haemorrhoidectomy: In this surgery, the excess haemorrhoidal tissue that is causing the bleeding is removed. The surgery is done under local or regional anaesthesia. It is the most effective way of treating severe or recurring hemorrhoids.

  2. Haemorrhoid Stapling: This method is mostly used only for the treatment of internal haemorrhoids. Here the haemorrhoids are stapled in place blocking the blood flow causing them to shrink. This method is less painful when compared to a haemorrhoidectomy.

What Are Piles (Haemorrhoids)?

Piles, also known as haemorrhoids, are enlarged blood vessels that can be seen in and around the anus (the opening of your bottom). Blood vessels are naturally present in your anus and they play an important role in normal bowel movements for the excretion of faeces. Piles develop when these blood vessels become enlarged. Piles are more common in adults between 45-65 years of age.

Hear it from our patients

I had just moved to Delhi when I started experiencing the Piles symptoms. Since I am alone here, I wanted to visit the best piles clinic in town, and that is when I came across Fairfield clinics on Google. My experience at the Fairfield clinic was brilliant. The surgery was performed with great care, and the facilities at the clinic were remarkable. I would recommend Fairfield clinic to everyone who's suffering from piles.

Neena Gupta

Managing Director

I have been suffering from piles for years now, so I decided on getting permanent treatment once and for all. That is when Dr. Priyesh Naik informed me about the laser piles treatment. I then came across Fairfield clinic and had my piles operation done there. The laser treatment was relatively painless, and there was nothing to worry about. I could get back to work shortly after my procedure without taking a lot of leaves from work.

Rohit Shah

Software Developer

Due to the current situation of the pandemic and the strict guidelines, I am staying indoors. However, I have been suffering from piles for a while now. I need to know some piles' home remedies which I can try. Dr. Jeetendra Jadhav at Fairfield clinic suggested that I don't need any surgery and prescribed me some medication and some of the home remedies, which I could try for piles. I am thankful to him for suggesting to me those home remedies which have worked wonders.

Pinky Goel
