Treatments we offer
Conventional Technique
This technique can be used on newborn babies. During this, your baby rests on his back with his limbs restrained to hinder his movements. An anaesthetic will be applied to the penis base to numb the area. Then, a plastic ring will be inserted around the penis. The foreskin will be removed with a scalpel. In the end, a topical antibiotic ointment or jelly will be used to keep away infection. This technique can take up to 15 minutes in a newborn to an hour in adults.
Treatments we offer
Laser Circumcision
This is a more advanced technique wherein a laser device is used for cutting the foreskin and takes only one day of care. It has some advantages like shorter time, faster recovery, and fewer complications.
Treatments we offer
ZSR Circumcision (Stapler circumcision)
It is a new technique used for cauterizing the foreskin under local anaesthesia. The ZSR device consists of an inner bell (used for protecting the glans penis, and an outer bell with a circular blade (that cuts the foreskin). In the end, a stapler is applied for closing the wound.
Treatments we offer
Silicone Ring
This is the recent technique in which a plastic ring is wrapped around the penis. It will fall off by itself after 7-10 days. Other circumcision techniques include Gomco or Mogen clamps and the Plastibell device.
What is Circumcision?
Circumcision is a safe and common practice made for separating the foreskin from the glans of the penis. The foreskin is a double-layered stretchable fold of smooth muscle tissue whose function is to moisten the glans. Circumcision is mostly performed in newborns on the first and second day after birth while in adults it’s used for treating severe conditions such as Balanoposthitis and Balanitis.
What are the advantages of circumcision?
The benefits of circumcision include:-
- Reducing the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs): By removing the skin that covers the penis base, keeps this area clean and hygienic and lowers the potential of urinary tract infections and further complications
- Decreases the risk of sexually transmitted infections: It means diseases resulted from sexual discourse such as HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, etc.
- Mitigating the risk of penile cancer: Some studies have suggested that men who are circumcised are at the low potential of developing phimosis (a rare condition in which cancer attacks the cells of the penis)
what are the complications of circumcision?
Circumcision also has a few complications and it is important to realise that it is better to stay prepared of the complications if one is aware and has the ability to recognize the problems and consult a medical expert when required.
1.Bleeding
2.Insufficient foreskin removed
3.Excessive foreskin removed
4.Adhesions / Skin Bridges
5.Abnormal Healing
6.Urinary Retention
